Energy Efficiency Specialist |

The Energy Efficiency Specialist program consists of both the Weatherization and Energy Auditor programs, back-to-back. The total program length is 720 contact hours over 24 weeks.

Program benefits
- 120 hours of on-the-job training at an energy efficiency company is included as an unpaid externship.
- The externship experience builds the resume of the participant and provides relationship building with potential employers.
- Along with a background in business management and a builders license, you may start your own energy efficiency business.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday 8-2:30 pm for 24 weeks.
Total program hours: Total of 720 hours, including 120 hour externship.
Certification:
All graduates of the Energy Efficiency Specialist program will receive an American Medical Careers Green Jobs Training division certificate. A third party certification is recommended.

Weatherization Technician |
|
Weatherization is the practice of modifying a building to reduce energy consumption and optimize energy efficiency. Administering air sealing, insulation, duct sealing, measuring indoor air quality, and basic mechanical system update are part of the weatherization process. The Weatherization program is an introductory program to the energy efficiency field.

Program Description
The Weatherization program is 300 contact hours over 10 weeks, which includes classroom instruction, hands-on laboratory practice, and off-site training. Graduates of the Weatherization Program will receive a certificate of completion from American Medical Careers Green Jobs Training division. You will achieve skills to obtain a job in the emerging market of energy efficiency with a concentration in weatherization.

The Energy Auditor program is 300 class hours in duration, delivered over 10 weeks.
Students enrolled in this program will, upon completion, be able to enter the work force as an entry level home, small business energy auditor/inspector/systems integrator.
